Clip In Hair Extension: A Friendly Alternative

Back in the good old days, beauty has always been attributed to long hair. You are at the peak of womanhood if you can gracefully sway your long, lustrous hair, but times have greatly changed the preferences of women, especially in hairstyle. There are those who stick with the conventional, while others opt for the short, if not boyish cut. Human hair extensions have surfaced in the market to deliver a convenient fix for those who want to have an instant long hair.

Purchasing human hair extensions require proper maintenance, just the way you treat your natural hair. They need to be moisturized since it can't access your natural scalp oils. Lack of ample moisture results in brittle hair extensions and you also need to use a lightweight hairspray to keep them from being dull. As much as you can curl and straighten your natural hair, you can also do the same to your human hair extensions.

If you are the type who freaks at the thought of coloring your natural hair, then try clip-in and feather hair extensions. Instead of applying the chemicals to your hair, you now have the option of coloring the clip-in hair extensions. Using specially formulated shampoos and conditioners can help prevent your extensions from drying out, and become brittle, but you should also dry them correctly, as well.

Lace Wigs: Replacement For Natural Hair

Lace front wigs have become one of the latest hair trends today. These wigs are considered as a non-surgical hair replacement because it can conceal baldness, which is great for people who suffer from alopecia. Lace front wigs are made from human hair and are carefully hand tied into a sheer lace base to obtain that natural look. It looks very natural and subtle that only a stylist could detect the difference from natural hair. It can also be worn for several weeks without having to remove it.

Applying lace front wigs, like other crafts, needs tips from a pro. The first thing that you have to do is to find your natural hairline and free the edges of your hair from any chemicals or oil as this will weaken the wig's adhesives. Refrain from using cotton products when cleaning your hair line, otherwise the adhesives will not stick. When it comes to adhesives, people usually choose between glue and tape. Spirit gum, a popular option of wig glue, is the strongest type and usually used in theater productions. Tape adhesives are transparent and it blends with the wig, hence, these are commonly sold by human hair extension retailers.

After choosing your desired adhesive, you have to place it on the perimeter of your head to secure the fit of your wig. For a span of ten seconds, press the wig on your scalp before you proceed to the next. Finally, hold down the edges of the wig by using a bandana or scarf.

Enjoying a New Look Courtesy of Hair Extensions

Staying with a single look for too long is a cardinal sin in the woman's beauty handbook. Experimenting with a variety of different looks is the only way to find the one that can work best, so a change in styles really is called for every now and then. Changing a look isn't just about new makeup or clothes though, as the hair is also an important element for any noticeable change in appearance.

At this point, there's only one of two ways that a woman can go about changing her look through her hair. She can either choose to go short with something like a pixie cut, or go with gorgeous long locks that are synonymous with female beauty. Hair extensions afford women with the luxury of featuring a more dramatic look much faster, because she doesn't have to wait until her hair grows.

With hair extensions, woman can now experiment with different looks, or switch styles to go from daytime to night. Women can opt for the sleek styling of straight hair for a more fashion-forward appearance or they can choose to be more relaxed with loose waves. The possibilities are endless with hair extensions and only a lack of imagination can stand in the way of an exciting new look.

How to Identify Authentic Remy Hair Extensions

Most women prefer Remy hair extensions (also spelled as Remi) because they're more durable, natural-looking, and vibrant than artificial ones. To identify genuine Remy hair extensions, a person should inspect the strands and see if they are all facing one direction. Many people often confuse Remy hair with virgin hair, which are similar in some ways but are actually two different things.

Basically, all virgin hair extensions are also Remy hair extensions, but not all Remy hair extentions are virgin hair. The term “virgin” is used on natural hair extensions that haven't been altered in any way or treated with special chemicals to enhance their beauty. Since they're essentially genuine human hair, virgin hair extensions still have their cuticles intact and each strand still face the same direction, which also fitts the criteria for Remy hair.

Determining whether or not the cuticles have been removed can be a bit tricky since these protective layers are practically invisible. A person needs to run her hands across each strand and see if there are any differences in texture. If the strand feels rough when felt upwards towards the scalp and feels smooth when ran through the opposite direction, that means that the cuticles are still intact. Hair extensions that no longer have cuticles are usually messy-looking and dull in color.
